The shark, pound for pound is one of the fiercest fighters that we can find in the marine environment, the sporting value to the seasoned angler pays tribute to its ancestral existence and although regarded as a pest in some angling disciplines is the ultimate when an angler really wants to test his salt against the oceans finest fighters. The Black fin shark takes the fight to a whole new level, jumping and spinning as it inhales the bait, testing the angler’s worth to the limit, asking questions, whether the angler has got what it takes to subdue his violent opponent.

This is exactly what created Bryan Kenneth Rapson as an angler, dedicating most of his younger years to becoming that master of the fight with the Black fin shark, developing his love and understanding of the ocean through his successes and failures to subdue the beast. His passionate respect and understanding about fish, sharks and rays on the shore and out in the deep has been honed through his many years of experience. These lessons will form the essence of the new series taking technological developments in angling to the readers.

During Bryan’s competitive years his involvement at club, provincial and national level afforded him the opportunity to experience angling throughout Southern Africa. His interaction with some of the counties finest anglers boosted his knowledge base and level of angling to new highs. This coupled with his thirst for learning the art of targeting species, testing new advanced angling techniques and practicing conservation orientated ‘photo and release’ methods of angling is what makes the man today.

Bryan’s motto is simple ‘dedicated to the love of angling’. Those who can live by that motto will understand what sport angling is all about; those who practice methods which align themselves to personal gain over and above conservation and the love of angling will never realize the true meaning of this motto.

Bringing professional experience to this dynamic team is the formidable challenge being placed in his hands. He has made it clear that only quality products endorsed by this experienced angling duo will be used in the DVD productions, a promise of transparency to the audience allowing piece of mind when following the advice offered by the team.

Bryan has also made himself available to share experiences and techniques with interested readers by Emailing him here. All questions regarding saltwater angling will be answered. Questions and answers will be shared by tight lines and on the internet.
