Most anglers dream about the perfect fishing spot somewhere far away from civilization and teeming with fish. Flamingo placed in the heart of the Namib desert some 60KMs away from the quaint town of Namibe has been designed with the angler in mind. The best way to experience it is to fly to the Angolan town of Lubango and get collected by the friendly staff from the lodge and let them take care of your every need. The 2 and a half hour drive takes you through one of the steepest passes made by man and is an adventure all of its own. Such is the quality of the angling that the Angling With Blackfin team found the fish even before checking into the lodge.

After one full week of angling, being fed 3 wholesome meals a day, and being shown the best fishing ever, we were taken to the southern beaches of Baia Dos Tigrés and the Cunene river to be spoiled with over 1500 Kob caught in two and a half days and then some giant Roughtail rays between 90 and 180 kgs.

Fishing is just one of the pleasures this remote location as the abundance of wildlife in the desert as well as the rare and weirdly beautiful Welwitschia plants which have survived the harshest of climates in the world and can be hundreds of years old.
